Adventure starts here! The Beavers Colony at 6th Norton Scout Group is a fun and exciting place where young children aged 6 to 8 begin their journey into Scouting. We offer a safe, inclusive, and energetic environment where your child can make friends, learn new skills, and grow in confidence, all while having a brilliant time.
What We Do
Every week, our Beavers take part in a packed programme of activities including:
- Outdoor Adventures – from woodland walks to mini hikes and nature hunts.
- Creative Crafts – fun projects that get little hands making and creating.
- Games & Teamwork – helping Beavers learn to work together, listen, and take turns.
- Badge Work – learning new things and earning badges to celebrate their achievements.
- Community Visits – meeting firefighters, police officers, and other local heroes.
- Camps & Sleepovers – safe and memorable experiences under canvas or in local halls.
Each session is designed to be active, inclusive, and age-appropriate — inspiring curiosity, kindness, and independence.
New members are always welcome. We maintain a warm and supportive atmosphere where each child is valued.
Uniform & What to Expect
Beavers wear a smart turquoise sweatshirt and neckerchief (or scarf) that proudly show they’re part of something bigger. Uniforms can be purchased locally or through the Scout Shop. We’ll guide you on what’s needed once your child joins.
No experience or prior knowledge is needed, just enthusiasm and a sense of adventure!
